In Between Oceans is a 7mins sea-monster by Pixel Cranes

Lo-fi band, Pixel Cranes’ new song won’t be a radio hit but it doesn’t care because it will be a great song for a neo-noir movie. And that’s something. Review.

I guess Gergő Géczi and András Tóth must have been born in the ’90s. No doubt. This kinda lo-fi stuff is perfectly suitable for that time. I wrote so many articles about them before, and I really like their sound and their struggles, but it seems no one has 7 minutes for listening to a song nowadays. Okay, maybe it’s just a prejudice but we’ve seen the phenomena that no matter how cool a song is,  this kinda lenght doesn’t match to today’s consumer habits. Fewer and fewer people have the intention (and have an urge) for daydreaming during listening to music. It’s sad but we can notice this trend.

Anyway, Pixel Cranes’ new song, ‘In Between Oceans‘ is slowly developing one with some sudden guitar addenda. These refreshments keep on track, it never turns to be a boring attempt and the ambience is like running into a neo-noir movie in the ’80-’90s. I’m not saying it’s a Linch kinda soundtrack but a bit feels something like that.

If you check Pixel’s previous records you can see the development of their sound creation process, and it’s really promising. They could write a radio-friendly hit as well and as you listen their last LP, ‘Iridescence‘; the song, ‘The Void‘ is a good example, so this new one.

Oh, and if you wanna win & get a CD of their latest album, share our article till one week after the publicationvia our and the band’s Facebook posts, and maybe you will be the one of three who can gain a dead-end of tech evolution 😀
