„I don’t know much about politics but it would be cool to have a gig in the Parliament”

This is not your ordinary premier: the man behind The Los Muskitos, Milos Rözge is not even 12 years old and he already put together a fabulous lo-fi album.

If I wouldn’t know better I would not believe that Milos Rözge, the man behind The Los Muskitos is not even 12 years old. Although we have to add: this guy grew up in a family of musicians. One of his brothers, for example, is the founder member of METEO, who we wrote about earlier and whose career we still follow closely. Everything comes together, as Milos was the brother, whose motif Maxim ‘stole’ two years ago and built into the first hit of his band, Dark Energy.

Regardless, Muskito Face, the introductory lo-fi album of Milos is quite promising, especially if you think about when you were at the age of 12. It sounds like an 80’s gaming room where the sound of PCs and C64 logo is the foundation. Then further sound effects get added to the mix: Atari, Amiga, GameBoy or if I would want to make it actual, this music can easily be the soundtrack of Stranger Things or Halt and Catch Fire.

Although as an opener, the words of Trump, mocking Obamacare drags you back to the present but the Commodore-nostalgy lurks among the notes alongside the track. You only need to scroll through the titles to see the vibe they are going for. The track, Ctrl could easily fit into a radio show discussing experimental music ventures.

Although we feel like this work is mostly an experiment, it is a bloody good one. If you add this to the age of the creator, it really adds up to an introduction which shows immense potential – given that Milos puts in the work, practice and most of all, humility. Until that, you can listen to the ten-minutes EP not only for geeks.

We’ve asked Milos about his connection with his brother and how he got into music.

‘Maxim started to teach me how to play the guitar three years ago and then I took up piano a year ago. I also practice drumming at home.’

– he explained.

‘I’ve already recorder some tracks when Maxim showed me Reason, a software which helps me produce tracks with better quality. I recorded nine songs so far and after listening to them, my brother told me that he’d be happy to do the vocals, so we collaborated.’

His brother’s influence does not only come through his musical taste: he was also the one who suggested the Trump-sample.

‘I don’t really know much about politics or English but it would be pretty cool to have a gig in the Parliament’

– added Milos jokingly.
